What is Product Information Management (PIM)?
Products Information Management (PIM) is your best friend if you sell online in many channels, in more countries. Think of it as your ecommerce command center, where you manage the data you have about your products.
The PIM has all products’ data which corresponds to your company’s catalogues and inventory. It sends it appropriately to all channels where the information is needed. These could be ecommerce platforms, marketplaces etc.
This way the PIM ensures that every channel contains the right information. You have much better organization and centralization of your products’ data. You also save a lot of time managing products’ changes, prices etc.
With the PIM you can also easily manage documentation for products, like datasheets, local labels, certificates of compliance etc.
The PIM is a central solution of Mercoria. We developed it to save you time, efforts, money & human resources at once!

How PIM Works?
When you work with your products, most probably various systems and user roles provide pieces of data about them. You have texts, characteristics, images, videos, datasheets, compliance certificates etc. You can either get them from different teams across your organization, or from your suppliers.
When you are using PIM, all product’s data goes to one place (your single point of truth). This way you can work in one place and be sure that all data is as much accurate and up-to-date as possible.
From the PIM data goes to different sales channels automatically. This happens with the help of product lists. A product list defines which product(s) you will be selling in a particular sales channel.
A sales channel is either 1) an ecommerce platform like WooCommerce, Shopify, Magento etc., or 2) a popular local or international marketplace like eMAG, Allegro, Skroutz, Amazon, eBay etc. You can add or remove products from your product list. Mercoria will automatically manage the data exchange with the chosen sales channel.
Data Sync and Inventory Tracking

Whenever there is a change in your product’s data in the PIM, there’s a real time sync with your sales channels. It will reflect this change there as well.
You also have the option to track products inventory as well – in one or more warehouses. These warehouses can be either your own or outsourced. You only need to integrate your warehouse management system (WMS) with Mercoria. Another option would be to update the information with import file in Excel.
If you are using any of the warehouses within our fulfillment network, integrations are already in place. You just don’t have to do anything else!
Say goodbye to canceled orders, messy inventory spread across warehouses, integration issues and delays in operations! Mercoria is here to solve all these issues for you!
